The University Regional Hospital of Nancy (CHRU de Nancy) is a university hospital located in Lorraine, France. It is one of the largest hospitals in France with a staff of 9,000 who treat 553,000 patients every year.
Since 2022, Nature Masterclasses has conducted yearly workshops at the CHRU de Nancy where researchers can learn what makes for an exemplary research paper directly from the Nature Portfolio editors. The 2-day Scientific Writing and Publishing workshop provides one-to-one interactions with Nature Portfolio editors through short lectures, open discussion, practical exercises, and abstract reviews.
Nature Masterclasses also conduct interactive seminars every 2 years, led by world-class experts on essential research skills including Clinical Research Methodology, and Effective Randomized Controlled Trials.
In addition to training workshops, CHRU de Nancy also provided Scientific Editing and English Language Editing to their staff. This enabled the CHRU de Nancy researchers to submit both research and grant applications for expert reviews by Nature Portfolio editors using the same rigorous standards applied to our journals.
The CHRU de Nancy researchers had access to two types of editing services: Scientific Editing and English Language Editing.
Scientific Editing provided detailed feedback and edits on the effectiveness and clarity of the writing, with reviewers specifically matched to each paper’s research focus.
English Language Editing focused on improving written English, including spelling, grammar corrections, as well as improving style and phrasing.
The insightful presentations and comprehensive sessions provided our researchers with invaluable knowledge, significantly enhancing their skills and perspectives. We also appreciate the scientific editors and the entire Nature team for their dedication and hard work in organizing the seminars.
