It can be difficult to find worthwhile events that offer networking and training for marketers working in the life sciences sector. That’s why our team was pleased to attend a new annual event with that exact focus.
The Digital Future of Sales and Marketing, which was held last October in San Francisco, was organized by Sales and Marketing Professionals in Science (SAMPS, formerly known as ACPLS). SAMPS was set up a few years ago by a group of people who felt there was a long overdue need to build a community for commercial professionals working within our industry.
SAMPS has held a number of events since its inception, but this was the first annual meeting and the reason why we were so keen to attend. The event took place over two days with an agenda designed to provide value for sales and marketing teams working across the industry, as well as a leadership stream for those running sales and marketing divisions.
So what did we learn? Here are some of our key takeaways:
Some other notable topics discussed were how machine learning and AI can improve CX and lead qualification, the impact of GDPR on global marketing strategies, and a Q&A with a group of customers from various sectors.
Members also expressed a demand for a European event. If you are attending ESHG in Gothenburg this year, you’ll be happy to hear that SAMPS are organizing an evening reception on the 17th of June followed by a one-day conference on the following day.
