A dynamic landscape

Despite ongoing geopolitical shifts, economic uncertainties and regulatory changes, we found that life-science leaders entered 2025 with an overall mood of pragmatism and confidence.

As we move into the second half of the year, the market remains in a dynamic phase. Leaders will need to continue adapting quickly, strengthening points of differentiation, identifying areas with potential for impact and building thought leadership.

Challenges and opportunities

While most life-science leaders anticipate market growth and investment over the coming months and years, more than two thirds also expect an increase in competition, with just 2% predicting this will fall.

To remain competitive, respondents say their strategic priorities include focusing on customer-centric targeting for new audiences or regions, launching new products and repositioning existing ones.

About our survey

We conducted the survey between November 2024 and February 2025, and received responses from 160 senior sales, marketing and R&D professionals, across 31 countries.

More than two in three participants had over ten years’ experience in their field. These included specialists in a range of sub-sectors including biotech, diagnostics, laboratory equipment and services, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and reagent supply.
